of residence and business in the vicinity, but a
doubt exists as to the power of said corporation
to hold or make valid conveyance of said prop-
erty without the sanction of the legislature ;
therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the sanction of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland be and the same is
hereby given to the holding by "The Baltimore
Yearly Meeting of Friends held on Lombard
street," of the lot or lots of ground on the south
side of Lombard street, in the city of Baltimore,
between Howard and Eutaw streets, having a
front on said Lombard street of about one hun-
dred feet, and a depth of about one hundred and
seventy-one feet, heretofore held and used by
said meeting or worship, whether the same
shall continue to be used for such purpose or
not ; and if in the judgment of said yearly
meeting of Friends the further use of said prop-
erty for the purposes for which it has heretofore

lease, sell or transfer said property in such
manner as its interests may require, or the con-
