Chapter 51.

AN ACT to provide for the appointment of an
additional justice of the peace of the State of
Maryland, in and for the fifth election district
of Harford county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That an additional justice of
the peace shall be appointed by the governor of
this state in the manner now provided by law
for the appointment of justices of the peace in
this state, in and for the fifth election district of
Harford county, whose term of office shall begin
on the same day as that of other justices of the
peace of the said county.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 6, 1888.

Chapter 52.

AN ACT to declare the sanction of the General
Assembly of Maryland to the holding and dis-
posing of a certain lot or lots of ground by
"The Baltimore Yearly Meeting of Friends
held on Lombard Street," heretofore purchased
by said yearly meeting of Friends, and used
as a place of meeting or worship.

WHEREAS the religious corporation named
"The Baltimore Yearly Meeting of Friends held

on Lombard street," heretofore bought and for
many years held and used for purposes of meet-
ing or worship certain lots of ground on the
south side of Lombard street, between Howard
and Eutaw streets, in the city of Baltimore,
having a front on said Lombard street of about
one hundred feet, and a depth of about one hun-
dred and seventy-one feet ; and whereas the
longer use of said lot or lots for the purposes for
which the same has been held and used has
become undesirable on account of the changes
