Chapter 289.

AN ACT to repeal the act of eighteen hundred
and eighty, chapter one hundred and ten, and
amend and re-enact the same so as to read as
follows : "An act to regulate and limit the
sum to be paid for printing and publishing in
Cecil county."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the county commissioners

of Cecil county shall, before making their annual
levy in each and every year, contract for print-
ing and publishing all matters required by law
to be published, except the Public Local Laws,
which may be passed at each session of the
general assembly, in two newspapers of oppo-
site political parties, and not more than two ;
which papers shall be respectively of largest
circulation, each of its own party, published in
Cecil county for the period of one year from the
date of making such contract; provided said
contract shall not allow for compensation for
such printing and publication a sum exceeding
in the aggregate twelve hundred dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said

ing such contract with the two newspapers of
largest circulation, and representing the oppo-
site political parties as aforesaid, then they are
hereby authorized to contract with any other
two papers representing the opposite political
parties, and published in Cecil county, who will
agree to do the work aforesaid for a sum not
exceeding in the aggregate the sum of twelve
hundred dollars as aforesaid.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the county

tion, and in not more than two, all Public Local
Laws passed at each session of the general
assembly affecting Cecil county, and made to
take effect from the date of their passage, once
a week for three successive weeks.
