LAWS OF MARYLAND.

To establish
grade lines of
streets, etc.

authorized and empowered to provide, by gen-
eral or special ordinance, for the establishment
and change from time to time of the grade lines
of any street, lane or alley, or part thereof, now
or hereafter marked, located or laid out upon
the plan of said city ; and that sub-section one
of section one of the acts of Assembly 'of Mary-
land of eighteen hundred and seventy-four,

Repealed.

chapter two hundred and eighteen, which sub-
section relates to the establishment and change
of grades of streets in said city, be and the
same is hereby repealed.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 286.

AN ACT to authorize the county commissioners
of Talbot county to borrow money for the pur-
pose of building and furnishing new school-
houses in said county, and to issue notes or
bonds therefor ; whereas several new school-
houses are needed in each election district of
Talbot county, and the amount of money re-
quired for building them is entirely too large
to be paid by the taxpayers in a single year ;
therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the county commissioners
of Talbot county be and they are hereby author-
ized and empowered, in their discretion, to issue,
on or before the first day of October in the pres-
ent year, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight,
thirty notes or bonds, in sums of five hundred
dollars each, numbered from one to thirty inclu-
sive, and all of the said notes or bonds to be
signed by the president of said board of county
commissioners, and countersigned by the clerk
of said board, whose duty it shall be to affix to
each and every note or bond so issued the seal
of said board.
