Chapter 239.
AN ACT to add a supplement to the act of
eighteen hundred and eighty-six, chapter one
hundred and sixty-two, entitled "An act for
the more complete and efficient organization
and discipline of the uniformed volunteers
constituting a portion of the enrolled militia
of the state to be enlisted, organized and
maintained as herein directed, and known
as the 'Maryland National Guard,' adding
further provisions for the government and
maintenance of said Maryland National
Guard, and relating to the application of the
appropriation made therefor."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the following provi-
sions for the government and maintenance of
the Maryland National Guard, and relating to
the application of the appropriation made there-
for, be provided and enacted in addition to the
provisions of the act of eighteen hundred and
eighty-six, chapter one hundred and sixty-two,
under which the said Maryland National Guard
has been organized, and to which this act is de-
clared to be a supplement.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That at any

time hereafter, upon the report and recom-
mendation of the brigade commander, after an
inspection by him ordered or made of any com-
pany now or hereafter forming a part of said
Maryland National Guard, that such company
so inspected is not up to the proper standard of
efficiency or discipline, the commander-in-chief
may, in his discretion, muster out of the service
such company so reported inefficient, and there-
upon the commissions of all the officers of such
company shall be vacated.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the adjutant
general shall keep a separate account with each
organization of the said Maryland National
Guard, showing the amounts by him disbursed
to or for the said respective organizations,
whether out of the appropriation made by the
