SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its date.

Chapter 209.

AN ACT to incorporate the town of Lonacon-
ing, in Allegany county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the citizens of the town

. of Lonaconing, in Allegany county, are a body
corporate, by the name of the mayor and coun-
cilmen of Lonaconing, and by that name to sue
and be sued, and have and use a common seal.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the limits of
said town be as follows : Beginning at a planted
stone, marked C. L. eighteen hundred and
eighty-eight, standing near a large lime tree

standing eastward of a large stone stable be-
longing to the American Coal Company, and
running thence south seven degrees and forty
minutes east, four hundred and ninety-six feet
to a point on the Georges Creek and Cumber-
land railroad track ; thence across the valley
north seventy-one degrees and forty-two min-
utes east, one thousand one hundred and ten
feet to a point on the aforesaid railroad track on
Bigbein hill ; thence along said railroad track
north eleven degrees and fifty minutes west,
nine hundred and fifteen feet ; then leaving said
railroad track north nine degrees and twenty-
seven minutes west, one thousand and sixty-two
feet to a stone marked C. L. four, planted on
top of a steep bank eastwardly from Bigbein
stable ; thence north twenty-three degrees east
one thousand six hundred and sixty-five feet to
a point south, seventy-one and one-fourth de-
grees east, twenty-five feet from an oak tree on
west side of Georges creek ; thence north sixty-
