SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the comptroller
of the treasury is hereby directed to issue his
warrant on the treasurer, upon the certificate of
the President and Secretary of the Electoral
College, which assembles in the city of Annap-
olis on the fifth day of December, eighteen
hundred and eighty-eight, for such sum as may
be due the several electors aforesaid, their offi-
cers and attendants.

Chapter 28.

AN ACT to ratify and confirm the proceedings
under a commission issued by the county com-
missioners for Somerset county to Robert W.
Adams, Levin E. Bowland and Thomas Wil-
liams to lay out a tax ditch in said county,
known as the Turkey Branch tax ditch.

WHEREAS the county commissioners for Som-
erset county did issue a commission to the par-

tax ditch, who did proceed to execute the same,
a report of which was made by said commission-
ers to the county commissioners aforesaid, and
by them finally confirmed and ratified without
objection ; and whereas, there has been an elec-
tion of treasurer and managers of said tax ditch
as required by law in such cases, and the said
ditch partly dug ; and whereas, the said Thomas
Williams, one of said commissioners to lay off
said ditch, is not a freeholder, as required by
the General Laws of this state in such cases,
notwithstanding which the parties interested
therein are desirous to have said proceedings
confirmed by an act of the General Assembly of
Maryland ; therefore,
