Chapter 26.

AN ACT to refund to Richard T. Browning a
sum of money erroneously paid into the treas-
ury of the state.

WHEREAS it appears by the books of the treas-

ury department of the State of Maryland that
Richard T. Browning has paid into the treasury
of the state the sum of twenty-six dollars and
fifty-four cents, in excess of the amount due by
him for state taxes for eighteen hundred and
eighty-five, for Garrett county ; and whereas
the treasurer and comptroller of the state have
recommended the passage of a law refunding
the said sum of money to said collector ; there-
fore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the treasurer be and
he is hereby directed, upon a warrant of the

comptroller therefor, which he is authorized to
draw, to pay Richard T. Browning the sum of
twenty-six dollars and fifty-four cents, the same
being an overpayment into the treasury of Mary-
land by the said Richard T. Browning, as col-
lector of state and county taxes in Garrett
county, for the year eighteen hundred and
eighty-five.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
