Chapter 199.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to com-
plete the basement of the annex to the Mary-
land state house, and to furnish said annex.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That the sum of seven thousand
dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
be and the same is hereby appropriated from any
money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated
for the purpose of completing for occupancy the
basement of the annex to the Maryland state
house, and furnishing said basement and the new
rooms in said annex provided for the use of the
Maryland state library and the committees of
the general assembly ; and the sum of fifteen
hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, for hardwood book cases for the first
floor of the said library annex.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the building

of Maryland, passed at the January session,
eighteen hundred and eighty-six, be and the
same is hereby continued and authorized and
directed to cause said basement to be completed,
and said rooms to be furnished, and the comp-
troller of the treasury is hereby authorized and
directed to draw his warrants upon the treasurer,
payable to the order of said committee, for such
sums and at such times as shall be required by
the said committee to carry out and fulfil the
purpose of this act.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
