SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the bonds hereby

authorized to be issued shall be exempt from all
taxation, except taxes due to the state, and that
the coupons due on said bonds shall be received
by the collector of taxes in Washington county,
in payment of taxes.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 197.

AN ACT to authorize the State Live Stock Sani-
tary Board to pay to James M. Holland and Wil-
liam H. Butler, of Montgomery county, certain
sums of money for horses killed by order of
the state veterinary inspector, out of the sum
appropriated by chapter four hundred and two
of the acts passed at the January session, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-six, for salaries and
expenses of veterinary inspectors, and for ap-
praised value of animals or buildings destroyed
to prevent the spread of infectious or conta-
gious diseases among live stock.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the State Live Stock

Sanitary Board be and it is hereby authorized
to direct the payment, out of the sum appropri-
ated by chapter four hundred and twenty-five
of the acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at the January session eighteen
hundred and eighty-six, for salaries and expenses
of veterinary inspectors, and for appraised value
of animals or buildings destroyed to prevent the
spread of infectious or contagious diseases
among live stock, of the sum of two hundred and
fifty dollars to James M. Holland, and the sum of
thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents to William
H. Butler, both of Montgomery county, for
horses killed by order of the state veterinary in-
