At a session of the General Assembly of Maryland,
begun and held in the city of Annapolis, on the
fourth day of January, 1888, His Excellency, ELIHU
E. JACKSON, being Governor, the following Laws
were enacted, to wit:

Chapter 1.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for the
purpose of making repairs and additions to
the furniture of, and procuring articles neces-
sary for the use of the Executive mansion.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
|
|
|
|
sembly of Maryland, That the sum of forty-five
hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be
required, be and the same is hereby appropriated
for the purpose of making repairs and additions
to the furniture of, and for procuring articles
necessary for the use of the Executive mansion.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That his Excellency
Elihu E. Jackson, Governor of this State, be and

he is hereby authorized to have such repairs and
additions made, and to procure such articles as
he may deem necessary for the use of the Execu-
tive mansion ; and the comptroller is hereby di-
rected to issue his warrant upon the treasurer
for such amount as the Governor may require ;
provided, that the said sum shall not exceed in
the aggregate the said sum of forty-five hundred

dollars, and the Governor shall make return to
the comptroller of the amount expended, to-
gether with the vouchers for the same.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
