Chapter 173.
AN ACT to repeal section three of chapter two
hundred and eleven, acts of eighteen hundred
and eighty-four, entitled "An act to provide
for the collection of statistics and information
concerning the various branches of industry
practiced in this state, and the needs thereof,
and the abuses which exist therein," and to
re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That section three, chapter two

hundred and eleven, acts of eighteen hundred
and eighty-four, entitled " An act to provide for
the collection of statistics and information con-
cerning the various branches of industry prac-
ticed in this state, and the needs thereof, and the
abuses which exist therein," be and the same is
hereby repealed, amended and re-enacted, so that
the same shall read as follows :
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the sum of five

thousand dollars be and the same is hereby an-
nually appropriated to pay the salaries and the
expenses necessary to the execution of the duties
imposed upon the said Bureau by this act, and
that the said money, hereby annually appropri-
ated, be and the same is hereby directed to be
paid by the treasurer of this state, upon the war-
rant of the comptroller, in such sums and at such
times as the governor of this state shall, from
time to time, direct by his order in writing.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
