any description whatever in the waters of the
Choptank river and its tributaries, within the
borders of, or jurisdiction of, Dorchester county,
from and after the first day of May in each and
every year to the first day of July.
SUB-SECTION A. And be it enacted, That it shall
not be lawful for any person or persons to place

When
unlawful.

any stakes, obstructions or hindrances in the
way of laying out or hauling any seine in any
of the waters of the Choptank river and its tribu-
taries, in Dorchester county, usually known of
used as a haul seine reach or shore, or in any other
manner or way prevent a bona fide owner of a
shore, or his agent or tenant, from using or fish-
ing such shore, or to haul a seine in said waters,
upon the shore of any owner, occupant or ten-
ant of said shore, without the consent of said
owner, occupant or tenant first had and ob-
tained ; and any person hauling a seine without
said consent, or who shall wilfully or malici-
ously place any obstructions as aforesaid, shall
upon conviction by the circuit court for said
county, upon indictment, or by a justice of the
peace of said county, be fined not less than ten
dollars or more than fifty dollars and costs, and
stand committed until fine and costs are paid.
