Chapter 104.

AN ACT to provide for the submission to the
legally qualified voters of Saint Peter's dis-
trict, in Somerset county, the question whether
or not beer and home-made wines shall be sold
in said district.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the question whether or

not any person or persons or any house may be
licensed in Somerset county, in this state, to sell
beer or home-made wine, and whether or not
license to sell the same in Saint Peter's district,
in Somerset county, shall be issued, shall be
submitted to the legally qualified voters of said
Saint Peter's district, number two, in said county,

on the Tue'sday next after the first Monday in
November, in the year eighteen hundred and
eighty-eight, which election shall be held in ac-
cordance with the law governing elections in
this state, and the sheriff of said county shall
give notice of the time and purpose of said elec-
tion by advertisement by hand-bills posted in at
least ten public places in said district when said
election is to take place, at least ten days before
the said election, in which said notice a copy of

this act shall be inserted, and also one of said
notices prominently posted on the building in
which said election is held, which said last men-
tioned notice shall be so posted at the time of
the opening of the polls for the said election in
said district, and the expenses of said election,
including the notices and hand-bills aforesaid,
shall be levied by the commissioners of said
county and paid by the collector thereof, includ-
ing a separate ballot-box to be furnished the
said judges of election by said sheriff, in which
alone the ballots as required by the provisions of
this act shall be deposited.
