Chapter 158.
AN ACT to empower the county commissioners
of St. Mary's county to levy a sum of money
for the building of a school-house for white
children in election district number five in St.
Mary's county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the county commis-
sioners of St. Mary's county be and they are
hereby empowered and directed to levy for the
building of a school-house for white children in
election district number five in St. Mary's
county, such a sum of money as, in the opinion of
the said commissioners, may be sufficient for the
purpose hereinbefore specified.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to amend an act entitled "An act to
incorporate St. Mary's Orphaline Female
School in the City of Baltimore," being
chapter seventy-one of the acts of assembly of
the session of December, eighteen hundred
and eighteen.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the members of the
board of lady managers of the corporation
created by chapter seventy-one of the acts of
assembly of the session of December, eighteen
hundred and eighteen, to be chosen under and
in accordance therewith next after the passage
of this act, shall hold the several positions and
offices to -which they shall then be respectively
elected until the same shall be vacated by reason
of their death or resignation ; provided, that if
