Chapter 157.
AN ACT to incorporate the Pimlico Trotting
Club.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That Frank Brown, Rich-

ard F. Maynard, Charles T. Cockey, William R.
Devries, E. Gittings Merryman, Delano S. Fitz-
gerald, Henry C. Tunis, T. Alexander Seth,
Arthur Emory, David Cowan and John E.
Phillips, and their successors, be and they are
hereby created a body politic and corporate by
the name and title of the Pimlico Driving Club,
and by that name shall have perpetual succes-
sion, and shall be able and liable to sue and to
be sued in any court of law or equity, and may
have and use a common seal, and the same, at
their pleasure, to alter or renew, and shall have
power to purchase leasehold, and enjoy to them
and their successors, such real estate as they
may select in Baltimore county, for the purpose
of training and exhibiting trotting horses, and
to hold such personal property as may be requi-
site to carry out the object of this act.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the affairs of

conducted.

said corporation shall be conducted by a board
of directors, to consist of not more than twelve
and not less than seven, and power is hereby
given to the said corporation, by its by-laws, to
fix the number of such directors, which directors
shall be elected by the members of such corpora-
tion annually, on such day as the by-laws may
provide, and that said Frank Brown, Richard F.
Maynard, Charles T. Cockey, William R. Dev-
ries, E. Gittings Merryman, Delano S. Fitz-
gerald, Henry C. Tunis, T. Alexander Seth,
Arthur Emory, David Cowan and John E.
Phillips, shall constitute the said board for the
first year.

Power of di-
rectors.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said board
of directors shall have power to pass by-laws for
the government of said club, and to fix therein
the terms of membership in said club.

|
Effective.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
