case may be, or before the circuit coutt for either
of said counties, having jurisdiction, shall be

twenty-five dollars for each offence, and stand
committed until fine and costs are paid ; said fine
to go to the informer or informers upon whose
evidence the conviction is obtained.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorize the Board of Police Com-
missioners for the City of Baltimore to em-
ploy and compensate three physicians of that
city for the purpose of improving the efficiency
of the police force thereof.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

Commissioners for the City of Baltimore is au-
thorized to appoint and commission, annually,
three physicians of integrity and capacity, resi-
dents of Baltimore city, and who will have prac-
ticed medicine therein for at least three years next
preceding the date of their commission, to act
as physicians of the police department of that
city, under such rules and regulations as the said
board may, from time, prescribe f or their conduct.

all applicants for position in the police force of
Baltimore city, and to test their entire fitness in
every respect for such position ; to visit all po-
licemen, turnkeys, detectives, officers of police

as sick, and to report their condition to the said
board ; to visit and professionally attend any
