Chapter 121.
AN ACT to refund to John Sterling, of Somer-
set county, late collector of taxes for Somerset
county, the sum of twenty-seven dollars and
eighteen cents, for money paid into the treas-
ury of the state in excess of the amount due
by him to the state for state taxes for the
year eighteen hundred and eighty-three.
WHEREAS it appears by the books of the trea-

sury department of the State of Maryland that
John Sterling has paid into the treasury of this
state the sum of twenty-seven dollars and eigh-
teen cents in excess of the amount due by him
for state taxes for eighteen hundred and eighty-
three, for Somerset county, and whereas the
treasurer and comptroller of the treasury of the
state have recommended the passage of a law
refunding the said sum of money to said col-
lector ; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the treasurer of the state
be and he is hereby directed and required, upon
the warrant of the comptroller, to pay to John
Sterling the sum of twenty-seven dollars and
eighteen cents out of any moneys in the treas-
ury not otherwise appropriated.
