Chapter 11.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
Montgomery Clagett, late collector of state
taxes for the fourth collection district of
Montgomery county, the amount overpaid by
him into the treasury.

|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the comptroller of
the treasury be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue his warrant upon the
treasurer to pay Montgomery Clagett, late col-
lector of state taxes for the fourth collection
district of Montgomery county, the sum of one
hundred and seventy-seven dollars and ninety-
two cents ($177.92), being the amount overpaid
by said Montgomery Clagett into the treasury
as collector of state taxes for the fourth collec-
tion district of Montgomery county for the year
eighteen hundred and eighty-five, as certified
by the comptroller and treasurer, the refunding
thereof having received the recommendation of
said officers.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 12.
AN ACT providing for the appointment of
justices of the peace for election districts
number four, five, six and fourteen in Alle-
gany county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That the governor be and he
is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint
two additional justices of the peace in Allegany
county, who shall serve at large for election
districts number four, five, six and fourteen,
constituting the city of Cumberland and vicinity.
