LAWS OF MARYLAND.

No license to
be issued.

Court for Wicomico county, to issue a license to any person or
persons or corporation to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or
lager beer in Sharpstown (No. 10) Election District of said
county.

Repeal.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all acts or parts
of acts inconsistent with this act, be and they are hereby
repealed.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 8th, 1894.

CHAPTER 74.

AN ACT to amend and define the corporate powers of the
corporation created by Chapter 199 of the Acts of Assembly
of the year 1854, entitled an Act to incorporate the Roman
Catholic Asylum for Widows in the City of Baltimore.

Corporate
powers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the body corporate and politic created by
chapter 199 of the acts, of Assembly of the year 1854, entitled
an act to incorporate the Roman Catholic Asylum for Widows
in the city of Baltimore, under its present lawful corporate
name, that is to say, The Little Sisters of the Poor, shall have
power from time to time to make such needful by-laws, rules
and regulations and such amendments or changes therein as
may be needed for the better advancement of its corporate
purposes, and shall have further power to establish and main-
tain and enlarge its present or any other asylum for aged and
indigent persons of both sexes in the city of Baltimore, who
shall be thereto admitted in accordance with the by laws, rules
and regulations so made as aforesaid, and subject to no other
restrictions .as age, sex, color, race or religious faith than the
said body corporate and politic shall see fit in its discretion to
establish or recognize.

May hold
property.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said body
corporate and politic shall have power to take, hold and enjoy
property, real, personal or mixed, to an amount not exceeding
at any one time the sum mentioned in its original charter of
incorporation, and in addition thereto all lands, buildings,
