CHAPTER 580.

AN ACT to add an additional section to Article 20 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset
County," sub- title "Oysters," to follow Section 196 in said
article, to be designated as Section 196 A, relating to the
powers of the Circuit Court for Somerset County, in amend-
ing proceedings of the justices of the peace in cases for
violation of the local oyster laws of Somerset County.

Amendments
by Circuit
Court.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in all cases in which parties may be charged
with a violation of the local oyster laws for Somerset county,
or vessel or other property condemned by justices of the peace
for being used in violation of said laws, coming before the
Circuit Court for Somerset county, upon appeal or other pro-
ceeding, the said Circuit Court shall have full power to amend
any warrant, bond or other proceeding, which may appear in
the case, and try the case de novo, so as to bring the case to
trial fully upon its merits before said court, as if the same had
originated in said court.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 581.

AN ACT to provide for the collection of the tax imposed
upon packers, shippers and wholesale and retail dealers in
oysters, by Section 20 H of Article 72 of the Code of Public
General Laws, as enacted by Chapter 278 of the Code of
the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January
session, 1893, and the payment of the salaries of the several
oyster inspectors appointed under the provisions of Section
20 G of the same act.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Certain packers, shippers and wholesale and
retail dealers in oysters, doing business in Maryland, have
refused or wholly neglected to pay the tax imposed by section
20 H of article 72 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, as enacted by chapter 278 of the acts passed by the
