FRANK BROWN, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

fifteenth day of January and the tenth day of November in
each and every year; nor any woodcock, between the first day
of January and the fifteenth day of June in each and every
year; nor any muskrat, between the twentieth day of March
and the first day of December in each and, every year; nor
any wild goose, between the first day of April and the first
day of November in each and every year.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That it shall be unlawful
for any person or persons to hunt, shoot or kill from boats,
with lights, in the night time, any muskrat, or to hunt and
kill at night, with lights, any partridge or quail in Somerset
county; and every person so offending, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof before any justice of

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any person or persons
trespassing upon the land of another in said county with dog or
gun, without leave, after notice forbidding such trespassing has
been conspicuously posted on said land or published in some
newspaper published in Somerset county, one week before such
trespassing, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction
before any justice of the peace for said county, shall be fined
not less than five nor more than ten dollars, in the discretion
of the justice, and be committed to the county jail until said
fine and costs of prosecution be paid.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted. That all acts or parts of
acts, relating to the protection of birds and game in Somerset
county, inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and the
same are hereby repealed, so far as they may conflict with this

shall be paid by the officer collecting the same, over to the
treasurer of the Board of School Commissioners of Somerset
county, to be applied to the educational fund of said county.
