SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That in the acquisition of any
property necessary to the construction of said bridge and the
approaches thereto or therefrom, either by purchase, condemna-
nation or otherwise, that they are hereby authorized and
empowered to so acquire the same so that said bridge over
Curtis Creek may connect the public road on the east side of
said creek with some street, avenue or public road on the
west side of said creek, leading either mediately or immedi-
ately through South Baltimore and Brooklyn to Light street
bridge.

Failure to
pay sub-
scription.
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That if any stockholders in
said company shall refuse or neglect to pay any balance which
may be due on any share or shares of such stock by him or
her held, at the times and periods required by the president
and directors, and shall so neglect or refuse for thirty days
thereafter, every such stockholder, or his or her assigns, shall,
in the discretion of said president and directors, forfeit to the
company every such share on which any instalment shall
remain due and unpaid as aforesaid, to be sold for the benefit
of said company, or such instalment may be recovered by law
in a suit for the recovery thereof, in such manner as similar
amounts are recovered.

missioners

scribe.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel county be and they are hereby
authorized, in their discretion, to subscribe to the capital stock
of said company in an amount not exceeding five thousand
dollars, to be levied for in the usual way, and to be paid as
other stock subscriptions to said capital stock is paid; and in
consideration of such subscription, said commissioners are
authorized to appoint two directors on the part of said county,
who, with the directors elected, as hereinbefore provided, shall
form the board of directors of said company.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the said president and
board of directors for the time being shall have power to make
rules, regulations and by-laws for the government of said cor-
poration, and they may constitute, appoint and employ such
officers, agents or servants as they shall deem necessary and
proper for the management of the affairs of said corporation,
and the same to dismiss or discharge at pleasure.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That chapter three hundred
and seven of the acts of the General Assembly of 1860, entitled
