CHAPTER 537.
AN ACT to extend the privileges and enlarge the powers,
amend and ratify the Charter of the Farmers and Mer-
chants' Bank of Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, The Farmers and Merchants' Bank of Salisbury,
Wicomico county, Maryland, was duly incorporated on the
fourteenth day of December, eighteen hundred and ninety-
two, as a savings institution, under the provisions of the Gen-
eral Laws of this State relating to the creation and regulation
of incorporated companies in the State of Maryland, with a
capital stock of twenty-five thousand dollars, divided into two
hundred and fifty shares, with the privilege of increasing its
capital stock to fifty thousand, and is desirous of extending the
privileges and enlarging the powers of the said corporation,
which was amended by certificate dated the third day of April,
1893, and recorded among the Incorporation Records of said
Wicomico county, in Liber S. P. T. No. 1, folio 71, etc.;
therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That the charter of the Farmers and Merchants'
Bank of Salisbury, Maryland, as it appears by its certificate of
incorporation, dated the fourteenth day of December, 1892,
and recorded among the Incorporation Records of said county,
in Liber S. P. T. No. 1, folio 71, etc., as amended by certificate
dated the third day of April, 1893, and recorded in Liber S.
P. T. No. 1, folio 71, etc., of the Incorporation Records of
said connty, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed,

and the shareholders thereof are hereby declared to be a body
corporate and politic, under the name and style of the
" Farmers and Merchants' Bank " at Salisbury, Wicomico
county, Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said corporation, under
the above name and style, is hereby made able and capable in
law to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and be
answered, defend and be defended in courts of law; to make,
have and use a common seal, and the same to break, alter and
renew at their pleasure, and generally to do and execute all
and singular such acts, matters and things as a corporation and
body politic may and can lawfully execute.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the capital stock of the
said bank of Salisbury, Maryland, shall be twenty-five
