holders, individually, shall not be liable; and the service of any-
judicial process on the president shall be sufficient service on
the company.

Effective.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 522.
AN ACT to incorporate " Crisfield Milling Company."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That George W. Long, Lewis R. T. Dixon, James

A body cor-
porate.

A. Stevens, Clarence Hodson and Elijah H. Boston, all resi-
dents of Somerset county and State of Maryland, and their
successors, and all other persons who may hereafter become
members of the corporation to be created by this act, are
hereby created and declared to be a body politic and corporate,
by the name, style and title of " Crisfield Milling Company,"

and by the same name shall have succession, and shall be
capable to sue and be sued, complain and defend in any court
of law or equity, to make and use a common seal, and alter the
same at pleasure, to receive and make deeds and contracts, to
acquire by purchase, or in any manner take, hold, use, employ,
manage, mortgage, dispose of, or in any manner not inconsis-
tent with law," deal with any property, real, personal or mixed,
and situate in or out of this State, which may be necessary or
proper to enable said corporation to carry on its operations or
fulfill the purposes named in this act, and generally to do
every other thing not inconsistent with law which may be

necessary or proper to promote the objects, designs and pur-
poses, which are hereby declared to be for the purpose of
operating a mill or mills for the manufacture of flour, grist,
feed, kindling-wood, lumber, sash, boxes, baskets, crates, shooks,
or such other articles as may be manufactured to advantage by
a saw, planing, sash, feed, grist, roller or flour mill or mills,
whether operated by steam, water or any other power or
powers; and for the further purpose of buying, selling or

trading of goods, wares and merchandise of every description,
in large or small quantities, in the State of Maryland and else-
where; but the principal office of said corporation shall always
be in Crisfield, Somerset county, Maryland.
