Polls.

Aberdeen, authorizing the issue of (naming the amount)
dollars of bonds." That the polls shall be open at 12 o'clock
M. and close at 7 o'clock p. M., and at the closing of the polls
the judges of election shall count the ballots so cast, and shall
return the same and the tally sheets of their count to the said
commissioners on the day following that upon which the
election was held, and the said commissioners shall immedi-
ately announce and publish the result; and if a majority of
those voting have given their assent to the ordinance, it shall
take effect from the date of the announcement and publication
of the result by the said commissioners.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from and after the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 489.

AN ACT to amend the charter of St. Joseph's Apostolic
Society of the Sacred Heart for Foreign Missions of Balti-
more City.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, St. Joseph's Apostolic Society of the Sacred
Heart for Foreign Missions of Baltimore City is a corporation
duly incorporated under and by virtue of the general laws of
this State; and,

WHEREAS, The said corporation is desirors of disposing of
certain property, real and personal, whereunto the title is duly
vested in said corporation; and,

WHEREAS, Owing to the absence from this State of a

majority of the directors of said corporation, and the conse-
quent impracticability of holding a meeting of the said directors
within the State in time for the purpose of such disposition,
doubts have been expressed as to the corporate power of the
said corporation, so as aforesaid, to dispose of or convey its
said real or personal property; now therefore, to remove such
doubts,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That St. Joseph's Apostolic Society of the Sacred
Heart for Foreign Missions of Baltimore City, a corporation
