county is hereby authorized and empowered thereupon to pay
said bill, if made in accordance with the purport of this act.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 488.

AN ACT to repeal Section fifteen of Chapter one hundred
and thirty-six of the acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and
ninety-two, entitled "An Act to incorporate the town of
Aberdeen, in Harford County," and to re-enact the same with
amendments, and four additional sections, to be known as
"Section 15 B," "Section 15 C," "Section 15 D" and "Section

15E."

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section fifteen of chapter one hundred and
thirty-six, of the acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and ninety-
two, entitled, "An Act to Incorporate the town of Aberdeen,
in Harford county," be and the same are hereby repealed and

New section.

re-enacted, and that four additional sections be added thereto,
to be known as "section 15 B," "section 15 C," "section 15 D"
and "section 15 E," so as the whole shall read as follows:

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That the commissioners may,

whenever they think the public interest requires it, cause an
assessment to be made of all the real and personal property
within the corporate limits of said town, subject to State and
county taxes; and they may prescribe the manner in which
such assessment shall be made, and provide for adjusting all
differences in relation to such assessment; and they shall have
power and authority to require the owner, possessor or claim-
ant of any property liable to assessment, to give them such a
full and accurate statement in writing of his property, as may
be necessary to enable the said commissioners to ascertain the
value thereof, the same to be under the oath as such person,
and thereupon the taxes herein authorized may be levied; pro-
vided, that no lands included within the corporate limits of
