SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall taipe effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 487.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commis-
sioners of Frederick County to .appropriate and pay a sum
of money to Evan N. Hobbs, for transcribing the tames of
the voters of Frederick election district, in Frederick county,
from the old registration books in said district to the new
duplicate registries of voters, as required by the Act of
1890, Chapter five hundred and seventy-three.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Frederick
county be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
appropriate and pay to Evan N. Hobbs, of said county, a sum
of money for transcribing the names of voters of Frederick
election district, in Frederick county, from the old registration
books of said election district to the new duplicate registries of
voters, as required by the act of eighteen hundred and ninety,
chapter five hundred and seventy-three; said sum to be ascer-
tained by allowing him five cents each for every voter above
five hundred whose name was transcribed as aforesaid to the
duplicate registries of voters of said election district.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That before said sum shall be
payable, the said Evan N. Hobbs shall be required to obtain
from the clerk of the Circuit Court for Frederick county a
certificate as to the number of voters whose names appear on
said duplicate registries of voters for said election district as
entered thereon, prior to the September sitting in the year
eighteen hundred and ninety, and the said Evan N. Hobbs
shall present the clerk's certificate to the board of County
Commissioners of Frederick county, together with his bill for
transcribing the names as described in the first section of this
act, and the said board of County Commissioners of Frederick
