LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, The said amount was paid into the treasury of
the State of Maryland, as aforesaid; therefore,

Appropria-
tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby directed
to draw his warrant on the State of Maryland for $65.65, in
favor of William Burk, of Baltimore city, in payment of
above claim.

Elective.

SEC. 2. And l>e it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 445.

AN ACT to repeal Sections one to twenty-seven, both inclu-
sive, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arun-
del County," sub-title "Almshouse," and Chapter 166 of
the Acts of 1892, and to re-enact said sections.

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections one to twenty-seven, both inclusive,
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel
County," sub-title "Almshouse," and chapter 166 of the acts of
1892, be and the same are hereby repealed, and that the follow-
ing sections be re-enacted in lieu thereof.

Trustees of
poor.

1. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county, at
their first meeting in the month of January, or as soon there-
after aa possible, in each year, shall appoint seven discreet and
proper persons, one from each election district of said county,
to be trustees of the poor of said county.

Certificate of
appointment

2. The clerk of the County Commissioners shall, within five
days after such appointments, deliver to the sheriff of the
county a certificate of the appointment of each of the said
trustees, endorsing one of them for each; and the sheriff shall,
within six days thereafter, deliver one of the certificates to
each of them, agreeably to the endorsement thereon.

Oath.

3. The said trustees, under the penalty of twenty -fits
dollars, shall accept said office, and shall, on or before the first
day of February, take the following oath before the clerk of
