rates, viz : For every license to trade on foot, the sum of one
hundred dollars; to trade with horse or other beast of burden
and wagon or other vehicle, the sum of one hundred and fifty
dollars; with two horses or other beasts of burden and wagon
or other vehicle, the sum of two hundred dollars; and all
licenses issued under the provisions of this section shall be only
issued for the term of one year, and shall expire at the end of
one year. Any person violating the provisions of this and the
preceding section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction before a justice of the peace, shall be
fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than one hundred
dollars, one-half thereof to the informer and the remainder to
the State, or be sentenced to the county jail or house of correc-
tion for not less than three months nor more than six months
from the date of their issue.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 444.

AN ACT to refund to William Burk, of Baltimore City,
State of Maryland, the sum of $65.65, paid by him fot
license, and which, with said boat, was lost in the Potomac
River.

Effective.


WHEREAS, On the 13th day of October, 1892, Willian
Burk paid into the office of the Comptroller of the Treasury
of the State of Maryland the sum of $112.83, for license for
dredging oysters for the dredging season, between the 15th
day of October, 1892, and the first day of April, 1893, ant
in the waters of the Potomac river, between the first day of
November, 1892, and the first day of April, 1893, as required
by law; and,

WHEREAS, On the twenty-fifth day of December, 1892, the
license and boat and her apparel and tackle were lost in the
waters of the Potomac river, thereby preventing him fron
receiving any benefit, except for the period between the 13th
day of October, 1892, and the 25th day of December, 1892
