SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 389.
AN ACT to refund to Christopher C. Lloyd and Edward I.
Blain, partners, trading as Lloyd and Blain, of Worcester
County, State of Maryland, the sum of twenty-four dollars
and sixty cents for trader's license, and which, with their
stock of goods, was destroyed by fire.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, On the first day of May, 1892, the said Lloyd
and Blain paid into the office of the clerk of the court for
Worcester county, the sum of thirty dollars and fifty cents for
a trader's license for one year, as required by law, thirty dol-
lars of said sum going into the State Treasury, and fifty cents
to the clerk, and on the fifth day of the following July, their
store-building, with contents, together with the license, was
entirely consumed by fire, thereby preventing them from
securing any benefit, except for two months and five days from
the granting of the license, they being obliged to discontinue
business; therefore,

tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to issue his warrant on the treasury for the
sum of twenty-four dollars and sixty cents in favor of Lloyd
and Dryden, of Worcester county, in payment of the above
claim.
