dollars; and the receipt of said treasurer, signed by him, shall
be sufficient evidence to said clerk of said payment.

Disposition of
proceeds
from
licenses.

414. All sums received by said treasurer for license to sell
spirituous and fermented liquors shall be held by him subject
to the orders of the County Commissioners of said county, for
the use of said county, excepting one-eighth part thereof,
which shall be paid by said treasurer of Cecil county upon the
order of said County Commissioners to the Treasurer of Mary-
land, which said payment shall be made on the first days of
September and March, respectively, and shall be in lieu of
and in payment of all State license, otherwise payable by said
applicants under the provisions of the Code of Public General
Laws; and the clerk shall receive two dollars and fifty cents, to
be paid by said applicant, for each license issued by him under
the provisions of the preceding section.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 353.

AN ACT to repeal Section 68 C of Article 6 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Caroline County," subtitle
"County Treasurer," as amended by Chapter two hundred
and eleven of the Acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-two,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section sixty-eight C of article six of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Caroline County," sub-title
"County Treasurer," as amended by chapter two hundred and
eleven of the acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-two, be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
so as to read as follows :

When taxes
in arrear.

68 C. On the first day of January in each year taxes shall be
deemed to be in arrears, and interest shall be charged and
collected on all taxes not then paid from September 1st, the
date when they become due and payable; and immediately
after the first day of January, the treasurer shall deliver or
mail to the last known post office address, to each delinquent,
