an order as aforesaid be paid; provided, that the Comptroller
shall only pay orders as aforesaid, amounting to the sum of
one thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-four, and orders
amounting to the sum of one thousand dollars, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, for the year eighteen hundred
and ninety -five.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Treasurer, upon
the compliance with the provisions of the preceding sections,
shall issue his warrant for the sum specified in said orders,
until the sum of one thousand dollars for the year eighteen
hundred and ninety-four, and one thousand dollars for the
year eighteen hundred and ninety-five, have been paid out,
endorsed, as provided for in the previous sections, payable to
the treasurer of the Maryland State Fireman's Association,
a body corporate, as aforesaid, for the use and benefit of the
beneficiary named in said order.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the treasurer of the said
Maryland State Fireman's Association, as aforesaid, shall
immediately after the payment of the money to the beneficiary
in said orders, return and file with the Comptroller a duly
authenticated form of receipt, signed by the said beneficiary,
whose signature must be attested by a third person, and like-
wise signed by such officers of the said association as the con-
stitution and by-laws may direct.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take -effect
from the first day of August in the year eighteen hundred
and ninety-four.

CHAPTER 319.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and City
Council of Ellicott City to issue bonds for the purpose of
supplying said city with water, and for the construction of
other internal improvements therein, and to allow the citi-
zens thereof to determine by ballot whether the same shall
be issued.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council of Ellicott City
