68 A. The treasurer shall receive all money that may be
collected for taxes, fees, fines or otherwise, by any law or ordi-

justice, and credit each item under separate heads, and shall
deposit the same in some safe bank to the credit of the com-
missioneis of Crisfield, and make quarterly reports, and all
such moneys shall be paid out by order of the commissioners,
and countersigned by said treasurer and president of the board ;

with all the civil and police powers of a constable of Crisfield
district, and any one resisting him in the discharge of his
duties shall be liable upon conviction to punishment in the
same manner and to the same extent as if he had resisted a
