Election of
commis-
sioners.

118. The citizens of said village who have resided therein
for six months next prior to the day of election, and who are
qualified to vote for delegates to the General Assembly of
Maryland, shall elect, by ballot, on the fourth Monday in
April, annually, at such place as the commissioners of said
village shall appoint, tive persons, residents and qualified voters
of said village, Commissioners of Federalsburg.

New section.

SEC. 2. And lie it further enacted, That an additional sec-
tion be and the same is hereby added to said article, to come
in after section one hundred and thirty- four, and to be desig-
nated as section one hundred and thirty-four A.

Tie vote.

134 A. If, at any election held under this sub-title of this
article, two or more person on opposing tickets shall receive
the same number of votes for commissioners of said village,
the judges of said election shall, after having given five days'
notice of the time and place, proceed to hold another election
to fill said board of commissioners, and the person or persons
receiving the highest number of votes at said election shall,
with the person or persons previously elected, if any, constitute
the Commissioners of Federalsburg for the year next ensuing.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 294.

AN ACT for the supervision of the jail of Wicomico County,
and regulating the labor of certain prisoners contained
therein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the president of the County Commissioners of
Wicomico county, the county treasurer and the State's attorney
for said county, for the time being, shall act as jail supervisors
for said county without pay; they shall have supervision and
control of the jail and adjoining grounds, with the right of
