SEC. 7. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 292.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 87 A, 87B, 87 C, 87 D and 87E,
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Kent
County," sub-title "County Commissioners," enacted by the
Act of 1890, Chapter 203, and to re enact the same with
amendments, so as to constitute a new sub-title, "County
Treasurer," to be added to said Article 15, and to be Sections
222, 223, 224, 225 and 226.

SECTION 1.Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 87 A, 87B, 87 C, 87D and 87 E, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Kent County," sub-title
"County Commissioners," enacted by the act of 1890, chapter
. 203, be and the same are hereby repealed, and the following
enacted as sections 222, 223, 224, 225 and 226, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, entitled "Kent County," sub title "County
Treasurer."

SEC. 222. At the general election of delegates to be held on
the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1895, and
every two years thereafter, there shall be elected a county
treasurer for Kent county, by the qualified voters of said
county, who shall hold his office for the term of two years
from the first day of June following, and until a successor is
elected and qualified, and who shall be subject at all times to
be removed for willful neglect of duty or misdemeanor in
office, upon conviction in a court of law; he shall not be
eligible to re-election until after the interval of one full term,

and in no event until he shall have fully settled up all business
connected with his former term. It shall be the duty of said
county treasurer to collect all State and county taxes levied in
Kent county, and said treasurer shall assess all new or unas-
sessed property in said county; and for this purpose he is
clothed with all the powers possessed by collectors of taxes
under the provisions of the Code of Public General Laws; and
said treasurer may appoint one or more deputies, who shall be
