SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 291.
AN ACT to enable the Trustees of Springfield Presbyterian
Church in Carroll County, to receive certain portions of
land by deed, and to empower them to deed certain other
portions of property in exchange for certain parts of said
church property, and sanction the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the trustees of Springfield Presbyterian
Church, in the county of Carroll, already a body corporate, is
hereby authorized to receive and hold for Springfield Presby-
terian Church, according to the government of said church, a
certain additional parcel of land containing one and one-quarter
acres more or less, lying, adjoining the original cemetery of
said church, and now embraced within the enclosure of said
church cemetery, for cemetery purposes, and deeded by Louis
H. Schultz and wife to said trustees in the year 1893.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That said board of trustees of said
church are hereby enabled to receive from Frank Brown and
wife, by deed, a certain portion of ground containing two acres
more or less, with the buildings and appurtenances thereon,
and thereto attached and known as Springfield Institute, the
same to be held by said trustees for the interest of said
Springfield Presbyterian Church, and in accord with the form
of government of said church, and as originally proposed by
Mrs. Prudence A. Patterson, deceased.

SEC. 3. It is hereby enacted, That said board of trustees of
said church is enabled to receive by deed from Frank Brown
and wife, a certain portion of land containing two acres and
thirty perches more or less, lying across the county road imme-
diately in front of said church, and separated from the above
mentioned Springfield Institute by the public road leading to
