LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Repeal.

Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "Perjury," to
follow section 226, and to be designated as section 226 A, and
that sections 227 and 22S of said article, be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as to
the three several sections as follows :

Perjury.

226 A. Any person who shall make oath or affirmation to
two contradictory statements, each of them in one of the cases
enumerated in section 226 of this article, and in either case
shall make such oath or affirmation wilfully and falsely, shall
be deemed guilty of perjury; and to sustain an indictment
under this section, it shall be sufficient to allege and prove
that one of the said two contradictory statements is or must be
false and willful without specifying which one.

Subornation
of perjury

227. Any person who shall procure another to make a false
• oath or affirmation in any of the cases embraced in the two
preceding sections, shall be deemed guilty of subornation of
perjury.

Penalty.

228. Every person who shall be convicted of "perjury" or
"subornation of perjury," shall be sentenced to imprisonment
in the jail or penitentiary for not more than ten years.

CHAPTER 263.

AN ACT to repeal and re enact with an amendment, Section
two hundred and sixty-four of Article twenty-three of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Corporations," sub-
title "Dissolution of Corporations."

Preamble.

WHEEEAS, It has been determined by the Court of Appeals,
that corporations are not subject to the insolvent system, and,
therefore, the initial expression in said section is to such an
extent ambiguous as to interfere with the 'usefulness of the
section.

Eepeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section two hundred and sixty-four of article
twenty-three of the Code of Public General Laws, title " Cor-
porations," sub-title "Dissolution of Corporations," be and the
