of ten thousand dollars; but should any of said companies,
included within the terms of this proviso, fail for thirty days
after the first day of any January as aforesaid, to make the
deposit of $500 in this proviso required, such company shall
be proceeded against by the insurance commissioner in the
manner provided in the ninth paragraph of section 122 of this
article.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And T)e it enacted, That this act shall take eifect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 257.

AN ACT to add one section to Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, sub-title "Liquor and
Intoxicating Drinks," to be known as Section 653 PL,
further regulating the sale of intoxicating liquors in the city
of Baltimore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That the following section, to be known as section
653 P L, shall be added to article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, sub title "Liquor and Intoxicating
Drinks."

653 p L. Every licensed dealer to whom the board of police

commissioners for the city of Baltimore shall issue a permit to
••sell intoxicating liquors at places of entertainment, as author-
ized by section 653 PL, shall pay the said board of police com-
missioners one dollar for said permit, the money so paid to go
into the special fund of said board.

Effective.

from the date of its passage.
