LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Ewell, for services as clerk to said committee; for three hun-
dred and seventy-two dollars in favor of Honorable R. H.
Caldwell, Chairman of Committee of Virginia, for Maryland's
share of cost of stenographic report of proceedings of said
joint committee of two States; for forty-five dollars in favor
of M. W. Raisin, for attendance, as Sergeant of Arms of Senate
Committee; for two dollars and sixty-five cents, in favor of
Noah C. Sterling, for balance due as travelling expenses; for
twenty-seven dollars in favor of Conway W. Sams, for expenses
in visiting Washington on sundry occasions to meet Chairman
of Virginia Committee, to consider and agree on final report
of said committee.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved March 15th, 1894.


CHAPTER 98.

AN ACT to prohibit the sale of spirituous or fermented
liquors or lager beer in the village of Thurston, Frederick
County, Maryland, or within two miles of the Post Office
thereof.

Where intoxi-
cating liquors
may not be
sold.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of Frederick county, Maryland, to issue license
to any person or persons to sell spirituous or fermented liquors
or lager beer in Thurston, Frederick county, Maryland, or at
any. place within two miles in every direction from the. post
office of said Thurston, unless for medical purposes, and then
only upon the prescription of a regular physician.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
