28. There shall be two jury and two non-jury regular com-
mon law terms of the Circuit Court for Garrett county, to be
held at Oakland; the two jury terms shall commence on the
first Monday of March and the second Monday of September
each year, and the two non-jury terms shall commence on the
first Monday of July and the third Monday of December in
each year; and to said jury terms jurors shall be summoned
and returned in the mode prescribed by law; and in the trial
of any cause in said court, the judges or judge presiding shall
have the power and authority to employ a stenographer or
short-hand reporter to take down proceedings, including the
testimony, for the use of the court; and the County Commis-
sioners shall levy such compensation of such stenographer or
short-hand reporter as the court or judge thereof shall ap-
prove of.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 634.

AN ACT making appropriations for the support of the State
Government, for the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth
day of September, eighteen hundred and ninety-five.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the expenditures in the support of the State
Government, for the fiscal year beginning with the first day of
October, eighteen hundred and ninety-four, and ending with
the thirtieth day of September, eighteen hundred and ninety-
five, the following sums of money, or so much thereof as may
be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated, that is
to say :

FOR STATE OFFICERS.
For the salary of the Governor, four thousand tive hundred
