LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Appeals.

SEC. 22. That in all appeals from the decision of said justice
of the peace in said corporation to the Circuit Court for Wash-
ington county, the parties appealing shall give bond, with at
least two sureties, who shall be approved by said justice, in a
penalty double the amount of the tine imposed and costs
which may accrue on said appeal, which penalty shall be
judged by said justice, and conditioned that if the party appeal-
ing shall not prosecute such appeal with effect at the next term
of the Circuit Court for said Washington county, and also pay
and satisfy said judgment, fines and costs in said case,, the judg-
ment of said justice shall be affirmed, as also all costs that
shall be awarded by the said court, then the said bond to be
and remain in full force and virtue, otherwise to be of non-
effect; and no appeal shall be heard by the Court until such
bond shall be given and approved as aforesaid, and tiled with
the clerk of the Circuit Court; and provided, the appeal is
taken within three days after the rendition of said judgment.

Power over

streets.

SEC. 23. The burgess and commissioners shall have power
to provide, by ordinance, for laying out, opening, extending,
widening, straightening or closing up, in whole or in part, any
street, highway, square, lane, alley, drain or any water course
within the limits of said town, when in their opinion public
convenience may require.

Effective.

SEC. 24. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 635.

AN ACT to incorporate the Tunis Mills Mercantile Com-
pany of Talbot County.

A body cor-
porate.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Charles F. Griffith, Louis M. Hill, Frank C.
Fenhagen, James B. Griffith and William R. Martin, all
residents of Talbot county and State of Maryland, and their
associates, successors and assigns, be and they are hereby
created and made a body corporate under and by the name
and style of the Tunis Mills Mercantile Company of Talbot
County, and by that name shall have perpetual succession, and
