CHAPTER 507.
AN ACT to appropriate the sum of two hundred dollars
per annum to Cassie Alexander, of Harford County, for and
during her life, payable quarterly, she formerly having
been a teacher in the public schools for nearly twenty
years.
WHEREAS, Cassie Alexander, of Harford county, has been

a teacher of the public schools of Harford county for the
period of nearly twenty years, and is now over sixty-five
years of age, and has, during said period, imparted instruc-
tion to a very large number of pupils of both sexes, and was
a faithful and efficient teacher and is now in needy and indi-
gent circumstances and is not teaching at the present time,
having been compelled to abandon the same in order to care
for her old father, who was also a public school teacher in
the schools of this State for more than forty years, and she
now being physically unable to teach, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of two hundred ($200) dollars be appro-

priated for said Cassie Alexander, and that the Treasurer of
the State shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller of the
Treasury, pay to the said Cassie Alexander, or upon her
order, out of any money not otherwise appropriated, the sum
of two hundred ($200) dollars per annum, payable quarterly,
for and during her life, as herein appropriated and specified.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
