CHAP. 492

Levy to be
made.

100 E. The County Commissioners of said county shall
annually levy an amount sufficient to cover all such claims as
may be presented; for the year 1906 the sum of three hun-
dred dollars shall be levied, and annually thereafter a sum
sufficient as in their judgment will meet the claims.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 493.

AN ACT to regulate and control the racing of horses and
the making of books, pools and bets on the results of such
racing in Allegany County, and to provide for the filling
of vacancies in the membership of such commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

tion for such license, and before granting such license the
said commissioners shall cause notification of said petition
to be published at the cost of the applicant at least once a
week for at least three successive weeks in a newspaper
