Chapter 339 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, at its January Session, 1900, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments; the said
sub-section 26 to follow immediately after sub-section 25 of
Section 59, and to be designated 59 (26), and the said
amended sub-section 26 and Section 61 to read as follows :
59 (26). To borrow money on negotiable paper; provided,

that the sum so borrowed shall not at any time exceed the
sum of five thousand dollars.
61. The County Commissioners of Dorchester county, on
the first day of October in each and every year, shall pay to
the commissioners of Cambridge the sum of fifteen hundred

dollars, the said sum to be paid out of the taxes levied and
collected for roads in said county, and shall be applied by
the said the commissioners of Cambridge to the corporate
purposes of the said town of Cambridge, and all annual
payments of twelve hundred dollars made by the County
Commissioners of Dorchester county to the commissioners
of Cambridge since the enactment of Chapter 171 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at its
January Session of 1898, shall be and the same are hereby
ratified and confirmed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all Acts, parts of Acts,
sections and parts of sections, inconsistent herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 471.
AN ACT to regulate the appointment of special policemen
upon the application of corporations and persons.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the board of Police Commissioners for the city

cise of their discretion, upon the application of any corpora-
tion or person in the city of Baltimore that the said board
may deem responsible, to appoint suitable persons as special
police officers to serve without pay from the said city or the
State of Maryland, and the corporation or person applying
