Vincent of Paul's Orphan Asylum of Baltimore any sum
now due said institution for the care of destitute or other
minors committed by the courts or other police magistrates
to its care, or who may hereafter be committed, not exceed-
ing the sum of two thousand dollars per year. And the
said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore are further
authorized and empowered to appropriate for repairs, per-
manent improvements and additions to the buildings and
grounds now used, or hereafter to be used by the House of
Refuge and its successors, such additional sum or sums of
money as in their judgment shall from time to time be
required for those purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to regulate the sale and granting of licenses for the
sale of spirituous and fermented liquors in Frederick
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That all licenses to sell spirituous and fermented

liquors in Frederick county shall expire on the first day of
May next ensuing the date of the issue, and shall be issued
for twelve, nine, six or three months, and for no other times.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person desiring to
obtain a license to sell spirituous or fermented liquors in

writing.

Frederick county shall, before the first day of April, if he
desires a license for twelve months; before the first day of
July, if he desires a license for nine months; before the first
day of October, if he desires a license for six months; before
the first day of January, if he desires a license for three
months, file an application in writing therefor with the
clerk of the circuit court for Frederick county, in which he
shall state: First, the name and residence of the applicant,
and how long he has resided there; second, that he is a cit-
izen of the United States, and has been for twelve months
next preceding the filing of such application a bona fide res-
ident of the State of Maryland, and for three months next
preceding the filing of such application, a bona fide resident
