ballots, etc.

50. The town clerk shall provide all ballot-boxes and
ballots, official envelopes, and all registry books, poll books,
tally sheets, blanks, and stationery of every description, and
provide all booths and arrangements in the polling place
necessary and proper for the registry of voters and for the
conduct of elections, and the expense thereof shall be paid
by the Mayor and Council of Easton.
51. After the time has expired for presenting nominations,

the town clerk shall prepare the official ballot, and shall
cause to be printed thereon in a single vertical column,
without device of any kind, the names of the nominees for
the respective offices to be filled, and he shall cause the
names of the candidates for the same office to be grouped
together with spaces beneath each group, wherein the voter
may write additional name or names if he so desire. The
official ballot shall be of opaque, plain white paper, not less
than four and not more than five inches in width and of
sufficient length to admit the names of all the nominees, and
the requisite space for writing other names beneath them,
and shall be printed as near as may be like the following
sample, date and names to be changed :
