name of the company by suit or action at law or in such
other way and upon such terms as they may deem proper.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Baltimore, Fred-

erick and Hagerstown Railway Company shall have power
and authority, to issue mortgage bonds with or without
coupons attached, in such amounts as its board of directors
may deem advisable for building, equipping and maintaining
the said road, its extensions and branches; provided, that
the said corporation shall not be authorized and empowered
to manufacture, sell, furnish or supply gas or electric light
or electric power in Baltimore city or Baltimore county, or
in the city of Hagerstown in Washington county; provided,
however, the provisions of this Act shall not apply "to the
city of Baltimore without the full consent and authority of
the Mayor and City Council first had and obtained by ordi-
nance thereof.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 446.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 5
of an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1890,
Chapter 543, entitled "An Act to provide for the speedy
and prompt collection of taxes in Worcester County."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 5 of the Act of the General Assembly of

repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so that said Sec-
tion 5 shall read as follows :

5. That the clerk of the County Commissioners shall be
