shall suggest, and no account shall be paid unless ap-
proved by a majority of said board of district road super-
intendents; when accounts have been approved the County
Commissioners shall pay the same by order on the county
treasurer; the district road superintendent shall have con-
trol of all county property used for work on the county
roads, subject to the supervision of the County Commission-
ers; in making the appointments of district road superin-
tendents; the County Commissioners are directed to appoint
two from one of the leading political parties of the State of

Maryland, and one from the other leading political party, so
there shall be a majority representation thereon; the said
district road superintendent shall receive no salary but shall
be paid their actual expenses when engaged in attending to
road work, said actual expenses not to exceed the sum of
twenty-five dollars per year for each district road superin-
tendent.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on the 1st day of March, 1907.

CHAPTER 433.
AN ACT to amend the Charter and extend the powers and
repeal certain of the powers of the United Surety Com-
pany, incorporated by Chapter 479 of the Acts of 1902.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

re-enact.

land, That Sections 3, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of Chapter
479 of the Acts of 1902 be and the same are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, so as to read as follows :
Section 3. And be it further enacted, That the directors of
said company shall be elected annually by the stockholders,

other officers

on the second Tuesday in January in each year, and they
shall elect from their number at the first meeting of the board
after their election, as prescribed in the second section of
this Act, and after all subsequent elections, a president and
two or more vice-presidents and an executive committee, to
be composed of five or more members of the board, of which
the president shall be a member ex-officio; and said directors
shall have power to elect a secretary and a treasurer, which
offices may be held by one person, and such assistant secre-
