CHAP. 420

Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, said section to
come in after Section 20, and to be known as Section 20 A,
and to read as follows :

Section 20 A. Hereafter all checks of the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore shall be signed by the City Register
and countersigned by either the Mayor or the Citv Comptrol-

ler, and all bonds executed in favor of the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore shall be approved either by the Mayor
or by the City Comptroller, and all contracts relative to the
respective departments of the city government, sub-depart-
ments, municipal officers not embraced in a department of
special commissions or boards, shall be executed on behalf
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore by either the
Mayor or the respective heads of said departments, sub-
departments, municipal officers not embraced in a depart-
ment, special commissions or boards, or the chairman or
president, as the case may be, of said special commissions
or boards.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of

Repeal.

Acts inconsistent hererewith are hereby expressly repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 421.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
18 and 19 of Article 83 of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland, title " Sales and Notices," being
Chapter 579 of the Acts of the General Assembly, passed
at the January Session, 1900, under the sub-title " Sales
in Bulk," and to be known as Sections 18, 19, 20 and 21,
respectively.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 18 and 19 of Article 83 of the Code of

re-enact.

Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Sales and Notices,"
being Chapter 579 of the Acts of General Assembly, passed
it the January Session, 1900, under the new sub-title
